This is an expedition to the outlying islands of Phuket to a group protected by the National Marine Park. The islands of Ko Rok Nok and Ko Rok Nai are 50 miles away from Phuket, 12 miles off shore from Ko Lanta, in the middle of the Andaman Sea. The islands are fringed by coral and clear blue seas. The Marine Park Rangers have a base on the islands and this includes a camp site and restauarant. It is an amazing place, where only visiting yachts and a couple of dive boats are to be found each day. The sea is unpolluted and teeming with marine life.
Our trip is really designed for groups that have achieved their IYT International Crew Certificate already. This means that the yachts are crewed by students or people with previous experience. It is possible however to take beginners but we add a day or two to the trip to ensure they are trained and ready for a long distance voyage.
The route we take is to Phi Phi day 1, Ko Lanta Day 2 and Ko Rok Day 3. We stay at Ko Rok for Day 4. We sail back to Phuket Day 5 (via Ko Racha, if we decide to have a sixth day). This route allows us to participate in diving or snorkeling activities on the unspoilt islands of Ko Rok Nok and we also do trekking and exploration too.
We normally take groups of between 15 and 30 persons on this trip, on 4 or 5 boats. This event can be designed for particular groups and we can vary the time and the route, as required. This is a real adventure trip, far from the normal tourist trail but still safe and extremely enjoyable.
The outstanding natural environment of Krabi province and the outlying islands is a delight for all to experience and marine life is abundant in the National Marine Park.
