Phang Nga Bay, in Phuket is possibly the most beautiful sailing location in SE Asia for cruising Yachts. Our 4/5 day sailing adventure starts at our sailing base at Ao Yon where we spend the first day teaching the students the basics and preparing them for an afternoon sail to the lovely island of Ko Rang Yai. By 5 pm on the first day the students have learned a lot about the joys of sailing and are ready to go ashore and pitch camp.
The island is just beautiful and is uninhabited except for a small staff of 5 persons who run the activity centre during the day. An evening meal is prepared by the island staff while the students enjoy the activities on the island. Canoeing, volleyball, cycling, trecking and beach games are all possible as is a bonfire on the beach and an activity centre (disco/music) too. The students are exausted after a hard days sailing and soon collapse in their tents and get a good nights sleep.
The following day they are breakfasted and briefed on sailing activities for the day and prepared for another morning of sailing tuition and exercises. The afternoon sail is again a change of location and takes the vessels to another island location where the students and crew can be rested, fed, and entertained. The students spend 4 or five days learning the ropes and gradually becoming more and more proficient at the art of sailing in Phang Nga’s incredible National Marine Park.
This trip can be a bespoke adventure where nature, training and adventure on beautiful yachts can be explored to the full by the students. The National Park is full of mangrove swamps, gorgeous beaches, incredible limestone stacks and of course full of marine life. There are everything from Dolphins to Hornbills in the park and we can organize trips to take advantage of this natural environment.
The four or five day programme introduces students to yacht sailing in the splendid cruising grounds of Phang Nga Bay and is a valuable first experience of adventure sailing in a controlled and safe setting with a professional training organization.
